Game Summary

Chi is proudly different to most UK Mobile Slots currently on the market. For a start, it's turned the standard layout on its head. This isn't a 5x3 set of reels and rows; it's a 3x5 set. It's taller than it is wide, which is an arrangement you don't often see. Going a step further, it packs in 54 paylines to that structure. It can manage that by using a 'double ways' method for counting winning lines - you can be paid right to left as well as left to right. Your wins are also counted vertically rather than horizontally - basically, it would be easier to think of the playing area as having been turned on its side!

From a visual standpoint, the inspiration for Chi is an idyllic, almost fairytale-esque depiction of the Orient of old. Mountains roll into the background below a blue sky, with grass sprouting across rocky outcrops, and temples built into the sides. The reels spin inside a temple, which has been mounted on a stone plinth. To the left and right of the reels, you’ll see a pair of short totem poles. They also spin along with the reels, and we’ll be coming back to them when we discuss the bonus features.

The symbols on the reels can be a little hard to make out, which is our first (and probably only) criticism of the slot. If you squint a little, you’ll find that low values are taken up by a carp, a flute, an oriental cup, and a jade gemstone. Above them is a pair of green fans, followed by a golden lantern, and finally a lotus flower.

The slot also comes with a wild - which is a large, red symbol with the word 'WILD' on it, and a pair of bonus symbols. One says 'free spins,' and gives away the game when it comes to one of the bonus features, and the other just says 'bonus' and leads to a bonus side game. Bonus Features

Chi and Mow Bonuses are all about those totem poles either side of the reels. If they spin and complete the design which is painted on them, they'll summon their related cat character. When Chi is summoned, he shoots fireballs at the reels, turning anything he hits into a wild, subject to a maximum of six symbols. While you're here, the objective is to climb a staircase to reach a wheel of fortune. Chi draws numbers between one and six, and Mow will take the corresponding number of steps towards the wheel. As he goes, he'll pick up multipliers, all of which will be applied to your last win. Somewhere within the numbers that Chi is pulling out is 'collect.' If he lands on that, the feature ends.
